About Finemind

Finemind works with and for the community of Agago District, Uganda. We engage various stakeholders within communities, including local District Leaders and District Health Officers, in the design, implementation, and scale of our work. Rather than parachuting outsiders in, we believe local capacity building is a more durable and right solution. Over the past two years, we have built a team of 29 employees, all of whom are Ugandans, that includes our 10 key leadership staff and 19 community health workers working with 16 health centers spanning 9 sub-counties. They’re a mix of nurses, midwives, and health assistants who have an unfailing desire to support their community. Finemind’s work is designed in context, honoring the culture, languages, beliefs, and behaviors of the individuals they serve and the community members they train and engage to do this front-line work.
